BOST ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENTS FROM 35 MAYORS AND VILLAGE PRESIDENTS ACROSS SOUTHERN ILLINOIS

MURPHYSBORO, IL– U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) today announced that his re-election campaign has been endorsed by 35 mayors and village presidents from across the newly redistricted 12^th Congressional District. These endorsements add to the list of 21 Republican Central Committee Leaders and 4 State Representatives who have announced their support for Bost.

“As mayors and village presidents for communities across Southern Illinois, we are proud to endorse Congressman Mike Bost for re-election in the 12th District,” said the community leaders in a joint statement. “Mike has never forgotten where he came from; he is accessible to his constituents and understands the importance of working closely with local leaders to better our communities. Mike is a fighter and a leader in Congress and we need him to be our voice in Washington, D.C.”

Council of Prison Locals Endorses Bost

MURPHYSBORO, IL – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) today announced that the Council of Prison Locals C-33 has endorsed his reelection campaign. Council of Prison Locals C-33, a part of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), represents more than 30,000 bargaining unit employees in the United States. The Council is comprised of workers in virtually all levels of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

“Congressman Bost has showed up when it counted, visiting FCI Greenville and USP Marion to see the important work we do and hear firsthand from us about the issues we face, including staffing cuts, augmentation, and proposed cuts to our pay and retirement benefits,” said Shane Fausey, National President of the Council of Prison Locals. “Congressman Bost has had our back, and we want him to know that we have his. In these tough political times, Congressman Bost has been a constant voice for our members, their safety, and their families. United Mine Workers Endorse Bost

MURPHYSBORO, IL – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) was joined by Bernie Harsy, president of United Mine Workers Local 1825, to announce that Bost’s re-election campaign has been endorsed by the United Mine Workers of America.

“For many years, the United Mine Workers of America struggled to get legislation passed to guarantee health care and pensions for all UMWA pensioners and surviving spouses,”said Bernie Harsy. “Without this legislation, thousands of pensioners and surviving spouses would have lost their pensions and health care due to over 50 coal companies filing for bankruptcy over a period of several years. Congressman Bost played a major role in getting this legislation passed. The United Mine Workers of America would like to thank you for all this hard work and support in getting this legislation passed in December of 2019. Now, no pensioner or surviving spouse will have the threat of losing their health care or pension. The United Mine Workers of America proudly endorse Congressman Bost for the House of Representatives in the Illinois’ 12^thCongressional District.”

Postal Unions Endorse Bost

MURPHYSBORO, IL – U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) today announced that his re-election campaign has been endorsed by the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, two of the most influential postal workers’ unions in America.

“I am proud to be endorsed by the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association,” said Bost. “Time after time, our postal workers deliver for the American people, and it’s important that they have a voice in Congress. That’s why I recently voted to provide $25 billion in emergency funding for postal operations and have consistently fought against planned cuts to postal services, Saturday deliveries, and rural operations. 

“Some candidates run for office relying on political stunts and empty platitudes to try and convince our postal workers that they’ll fight for them. Well, I think actions speak louder than words, and I am proud of the agenda I’ve supported to strengthen the Postal Service.”
